Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering (or related field).
- MBA in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred but not mandatory).
- 5-10 years of proven experience in procurement/purchasing within EPC/Trunkey or engineering industries.
Job Summary
The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for managing procurement activities, vendor development, cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment. The role requires strong technical knowledge, negotiation skills, and experience in handling large-scale purchasing operations in EPC and Engineering consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, components, and packages.
- Collaborate with engineering, Site and quality teams to understand technical requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain long-term relationships.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative materials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare purchase orders, maintain procurement records, and track inventory levels.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and cost efficiency.
